B.A.P. has produced writing instruments since 1957. The trademark Cesare Emiliano, hall-marking a range of high quality products, well balanced between modern technology and craftsmanship, the synonym of reliability and care over details.
Each component is designed individually and undergoes several processing stages. Its thickness, size and shape vary with the different models. The hand finishing of each pen then makes it impossible to have two identical pieces: each fountain pen is a unique object, representing the high quality of Italian craftsmanship.
The town of Settimo, on the immediate outskirts of Turin, is known world-wide as the “international capital of pen production”.
Today’s factories originated from the many small workshops established during the Second World War. After having gained experience in the field of small products made of ivory, galalith and other plastics popular at the time, the workshops began producing celluloid fountain pens.
B.A.P. was established in 1957 as a small family business, by Giuseppe Baietto. He spent his youth in the workshop of his father Francesco and in the workshops where writing instruments were by then being manufactured and assembled: he was so fascinated by this activity that he decided to open a business of his own.
The turn of Emiliano, Giuseppe’s son, came in 1983. He began working with his father and put new life into the company, in particular with the introduction of new materials: resins, briar wood, buffalo horn, silver, gold and, more recently, leather.
His enthusiasm and love for the production and technical improvement of writing instruments were so catching that, in 1965, his brother Aldo also joined the company.
This is now the third family generation: the activity continues under the trademark Cesare Emiliano , hall-marking a range of high quality products, well balanced between modern technology and craftsmanship, the synonym of reliability and care over details.
Sterling silver, with a minimum millesimal fineness of 925, is the main metal used for the company line of products. In the pens it is a complement to other precious materials, such as gold, lacquer or resin, or natural materials, such as buffalo horn, briar wood and crocodile, lizard, python and fish skins.
None of the skins and leathers used for products marked Cesare Emiliano are from animals threatened with extinction, nor have they been treated with whale oil or other prohibited substances. They are supplied by controlled producers adhering to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
The writing parts of Cesare Emiliano pens are of high quality and spare parts can be found all over the world. Ballpoint pens have pressurized refills that write at any angle, on glossy surfaces, in extreme cold or heat and even under water.
Each component is designed individually and undergoes several processing stages. Its thickness, size and shape vary with the different models.
The hand finishing of each pen then makes it impossible to have two identical pieces: each fountain pen is a unique object, representing the high quality of Italian craftsmanship.
Clean and polish the metal parts with a soft cloth. For the other materials we recommend using gentle cleaning products suitable for each material.
Parts in gold and sterling silver are hall-marked according to the law, specifying the carats in the case of precious metal, and with our official mark
